Misneach Advocacy is committed to providing young people with the tools they need to make informed decisions about their relationships. We believe that quality sex education is essential in empowering young people to identify warning signs and make positive relationship choices. Unfortunately, many young people in the UK are only taught about puberty during sex-ed, leaving them without the language and skills they need to navigate complex relationships.

Young people aged 16/17 are at a critical stage their lives where they are exploring dating and relationships for the first time. This can make them vulnerable to grooming and unhealthy relationships. Predators often take advantage of their desire to be older. It's important to educate and protect young people during this time to prevent them from falling victim to these.

At Misneach, we're working to change this by providing tailored sex education and consent workshops to empower young people and equip them with the skills to protect themselves and others.

Our Workshops

Warning Signs of Grooming

An older individual complimenting you and telling you look older and are 'mature for your age'. The person may ask you not to tell anyone about them and keep them a secret from your friends and family. They may say 'no one will understand our relationship'.

They may suggest meeting in a secret place or a place away from your home so you won't be recognised.

This person may build your trust over time and ask you to do sexual acts that make you uncomfortable. They may tell you 'if you loved me you would do this'.

They may try and exert control over you by isolating you from friends and family, reacting angrily when you are away from them and threaten to hurt themselves if you leave them.
